The Russian Federation will take part as an honorary guest country in the 28th annual international trade fair Vietnam Expo 2018, which will be held at the Hanoi International Center for Exhibition (I.C.E.) in the Vietnamese capital.

Vietnam Expo 2018 will feature a wide range of modern industrial equipment, advanced technologies, products, and services in four areas: industrial equipment and electronics, beverages and packaging, textiles and consumer products as well as an international pavilion. The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam.

This year, Vietnam Expo, which traditionally serves as an effective platform for promoting Vietnam's trade with foreign countries, will focus on the theme of enhancing regional and global economic links. Vietnamese and foreign businessmen, investors, and trade and economic organizations taking part in the exhibition will have an excellent opportunity to expand exports, strengthen trade, make investments, exchange technologies, and expand economic cooperation as a whole.

Each year, Vietnam Expo attracts a large number of participants from all over the world. In 2017 the exhibition was attended by more than 500 companies from 23 countries: Russia, India, Belarus, Cuba, Cambodia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Laos, Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria, Singapore, Slovakia, and China, among others. This year, the organizers expect that Vietnam Expo will be attended by more than 20,000 people from 45 countries and regions as well as a large number of Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

A wide range of forums, summits, and seminars will be held during the Vietnam Expo 2018: the Export Promotion Forum, the Vietnamese Foreign Investment Policy Workshop, and the Hong Kong Business Conference, among others. These events will enable the exhibition participants to get the most up-to-date information about exports and investment conditions in Vietnam as well as attract foreign investment to the country in the near future.

The programme for the event also includes official meetings to discuss prospects for the development of relations between countries as well as the presentation of the economic potential of different countries.

In addition, as per tradition, the Vietnam Expo 2018 will feature the Gold Medal Award ceremony for the best Vietnamese export goods, which is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality. The most impressive national pavilions will also receive awards upon conclusion of the exhibition.
